Because I do Angus at twi ac/dc tributes… of course I have to have the MY signature, right? That makes no sense :p. But… who doesn’t love the beast!

I always struggled with accepting the price of the beast… over 2grand for a guitar that is stripped back with 0 features and does rhythm guitar… why?

I rookie conversion of a G5222 and then I have another one that a Luthier modified… but none of them felt that great, they both feel like regular guitars…

Well that’s because the beast wasn’t just a regular solid body guitar… it’s mostly hollow… and also the neck sits much higher than the body

And this makes such a big difference on how comfortable this guita is, because when you remove pickups and leave a hole… your fingers sort of go in there. But the strings on the beast sit much higher so you don’t have that issue.

I found this Gretsch with a €700 discount… new from a reputable store.. and I has to have it… it was at used price!

Ebony fretboard, proper hollow, not poly finish… I think it’s nitro… and very very thin, the right size metal “buttons” the complete looks! The guitar looks amazing, although very similar to the one you he Luthier modified for me… almost hard to tell them apart from a distance… until you grab them. It’s also very light! The G5222 is notoriously heavy, one thing that got my attention is that strumming or attacking the strings on the signature model feels softer than on the G5222… no idea why that is.

Nothing inside! Haha

So… as always… summarising… should you buy it?

I think so…. it’s such a cool guitar to own, it does sound very good too… is it a one trick pony? Well… yeah… not much versatility here…. but who cares, it does one thing very very well!
